Mission Statement
The Jewish Community Center of Mid-Westchester is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the community by providing cultural, social, educational and recreational/fitness programs, human services and Jewish identity-building opportunities to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Registration Fees

  • The JCC charges a registration fee only once during any fiscal year (July 1 - June 30) regardless of the number of programs involved.  The fee is payable at the time of the first registration during the fiscal year.

    The non-refundable registration fees are as follows:


       $40 for Individuals of any age
      
    $75 for Families
     

  • Most single events and short-term programs with a maximum of three sessions are not subject to the registration fee.

The JCC building and Sports & Fitness facility is closed on these six days: Rosh Hashanah (first two days), Yom Kippur, Labor Day, July 4, and Thanksgiving. Check the website for special hours on other holidays.

The Front Desk is closed on Saturdays and Jewish holidays. Most classes are not held on Jewish holidays but check with each individual department for holiday schedules.

  • Registration is an ongoing process until classes are filled.

  • A class may be cancelled for insufficient registration at the discretion of the Department Director.

  Priority Registration is open to 2012-2013 Nursery School, Toward Tomorrow and Camp families, and current Sports & Fitness members (Sports/Fitness Center /Health Center). It is also available to participants who were enrolled in the preceding session of a specific program, for the next session of that particular program.

REGISTRATION FOR GYMNASTICS
First Semester
 
  • Gymnastics Families - families who are enrolled in the gymnastics program for spring 2012 will have the opportunity to re-enroll in the fall session
    (April 23rd-May 6th).
  • Early Childhood Children - children who are enrolled in the Early Childhood Program for fall 2012 may be pre-registered for fall session weekday classes
    (April 30th-May 13th).
  • Priority Registration - Monday, May 21st at 7pm, via lottery system. Priority Registration is open to 2012-2013 Nursery School, Toward Tomorrow and Camp families, and current Sports & Fitness members (Sports/Fitness/Health Center). Please be sure to arrive before the lottery drawing, which will take place promptly at 7pm.

  • Wait lists will be maintained for all closed classes, for any spots that become available.
REGISTRATION FOR GYMNASTICS
Second Semester
 
 
  • Priority Re-registration for fall participants for spring session - Monday, December 10 - Sunday, December 23, 2012
  • Open Registration for spring session - Monday, Jan. 7th, via lottery system. Please be sure to arrive before the lottery drawing, which will take place promptly at 7pm.

Access Cards

  • For security reasons, JCC participants can receive Access Card that allow entry via the locked back entrance and Fitness & Nursery School doors.
     
  • Sports and Fitness Center Members are required to show their Access Cards at Checkpoint in order to use the facilities.
     
  • Access Cards may be picked up at the Front Desk one week following registration.
     
  • PLEASE NOTE: Once it is issued to you, please be sure to retain your Access Card even if you do not register for a program. The same card will be used if you register at any time in the future.
     
  • FEE FOR REPLACEMENT CARD: $10
     

Payments and Renewals

  • The JCC accepts the following payment methods: Checks, cash, MasterCard and Visa. There is a $35 fee for all returned checks.
     
  • Payment plans are available for an additional fee. Please inquire at  x313.

Refund Policy

  • A $50 processing fee will be applied to refunds prior to the first class.
     
  • An additional withdrawal fee of 25% of the program fee will be applied after the first class.  No refunds are available after the second class.
     
  • We are unable to refund those deposits required to hold a place in a program unless the program has been cancelled.

Financial Assistance/Scholarships
 The JCC offers a limited number of scholarships for those in financial need. Please contact Michael Herz, 472-3300, x240 to request an application.

JCC Building Policies

WEATHER CANCELLATIONS
Programs may be cancelled due to changing weather conditions. For up-to-date information, call our weather number, 472-3300, x113. When classes are cancelled due to weather, every effort will be made to schedule make-ups.

KOSHER POLICY
The JCC serves and provides kosher food in all programs held in the building. Our minimum standard is packaged food marked with a K and caterers who consider themselves kosher, and are recognized as such.

NUT POLICY

The JCC does not serve foods that contain peanuts or peanut products. While all current recommendations relating to peanut allergies have been followed, the JCC building is open to the public and therefore cannot guarantee that all surfaces or foods within the building do not have any peanuts or peanut products on them.

RENTALS
The  200+ seat Bendheim Performing Arts Center is available for rental (details).  Inquiries regarding rental of other JCC facilities should be directed to Michael Herz, 472-3300, x240.

USE OF PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEO RECORDINGS

Photographs and video taken during JCC activities and programs may be used for JCC publicity and/or publications. We reserve the right to use all photographs and video recordings.

DOGS
With the exception of service animals, dogs are not permitted in the building.

 

 

 

Child Care

Kids Place - After School Fun!
3-10 years

Let the JCC fill your child’s afternoon with friendship, fun and even some homework help! Kids Place offers afterschool games and activities, both indoors and outdoors, a snack, and help with homework to children ages 3 - 10. Our warm, nurturing staff will provide children with a safe and loving after-school environment.  Kid’s Place will be open Monday through Friday, 3:00 - 6:00pm. If your child takes an after- school class at the JCC and you’d like to take advantage of Kid’s Place before and/or after class, we’ll be happy to escort your child to and/or from the class and provide them with a snack.

 

Kid’s Place will begin on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 and will be closed on all JCC Nursery School holidays.

$15/1st hour
$26/day up to 2 hours
$36/day from 3:00-6:00pm

Kid’s Place may be paid for on a daily basis, parents may pay in advance for blocks of time, or parents may pay a monthly fee.

Ages: 9 months - 5 years
Staff: 4:1 ratio
Fees: (effective 7/1/12) $8.00 per hour per child. Siblings $6.00 per hour - 2 hour maximum
Payment: Cash or 10 hour card: $65 first child, $50 sibling discount on second card when purchased together. Cards available at the Front Desk.
Reservations:
REQUIRED
Members can reserve a spot after 12:00pm one day prior at the Sports & Fitness Checkpoint Desk, 472-3300, x325. Reservations accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Note: Please provide infants with a car seat or stroller, diapers and bottles. Parent/caregiver must remain in the building.

Route 684 South to Hutchinson River Parkway (South) to Weaver Street, Exit 20. Make right onto Weaver Street and go to five corner intersection. Make SHARP LEFT onto Wilmot Road. The JCC is the first building on the left.

Taconic State Parkway South to Bronx River Parkway South to Crane Road (Scarsdale) Exit. Follow Crane Road to second light. Cross over Post Road where street becomes Drake Road. At first light, make left onto Wilmot Road. JCC is approximately 1/8 mile on the right.

From Points South
North on Hutchinson River Parkway to Exit 21. Right turn onto Weaver Street. Follow first set of directions.

New York State Thruway to Exit 8 (second exit after bridge) onto 287, Cross Westchester Expressway. Take 287 East to
