JCC of Mid-Westchester Chief Operating Office/Chief Financial Officer

The Jewish Community Center of Mid-Westchester (JCC) is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer. The JCC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching the Westchester community by providing cultural, social, educational and recreational/fitness programs and human services to people of all ages and backgrounds.

This position is responsible for overseeing and directing all financial and administrative activities of the JCC, including accounting, budgeting, financial planning and reporting, internal audits, operations, human resources and information systems. This person will be the liaison with the JCC’s external auditors for annual audits and will be responsible for the preparation and timely execution of all annual tax and government filings. The COO/CFO will work closely with program directors and the executive director in assuring that the JCC operates in a fiscally responsible fashion in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

The COO/CFO will manage the financial operations of the JCC, providing monthly financial reports to the Board and will work with all departments on planning and managing their budgets.

This position will be responsible for Human Resources activities including payroll and benefits and employment contracts.

The COO/CFO will also oversee technology operations, including financial databases, hardware and software purchases, upgrades and maintenance, staff technology training, and contracts with technology vendors.

Other areas of responsibility will include matters that are normally associated with operation of a facility.

  • Strong background in accounting, finance or other business related field, CPA certification is ideal;
  • Experience in not-for-profit financial management, preferably in a nonprofit environment, with particular knowledge of fund accounting;
  • Managerial experience, including Human Resources responsibilities;
  • Proven experience managing technology infrastructure including technology contracts, database and software management;
  • Experience in a direct supervisory role running the operations of a multi-faceted business;
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
  • Excellent communications skills;
  • Demonstrated team player.
