An innovative and emotional intergenerational “journey” for Holocaust survivors and students. Working together, the two generations reveal the moving stories of survival and explore the issues of war, loss, and trauma.
Witness Theater was conceived by Irit and Ezra Dagan and developed by JDC-Eshel in Israel. It was brought to New York in 2012 by Selfhelp. This year, Witness Theater is a collaboration of Selfhelp, UJA-Federation, JCC of Mid-Westchester and the Holocaust & Human Rights Education Center.
See this recent New York Times article about performing Holocaust stories.
This program is generously funded by UJA-Federation of New York through the Community Initiative for Holocaust Survivors (CIHS), The Jewish Communal Fund (JCF), The Nedivot Fund, and the Claims Conference (Conference on Jewish Material Claims against Germany).
