Kids, teens and adults can all take advantage of our professional art studios and expert art faculty. We offer classes for the beginner, those just exploring an interest in the arts and the more advanced student.

Ask about our weekend art birthday parties available for ages 4 and up.

Creative Kids
For ages 3 – 4 1/2. Students will create fun 2D and 3D projects by using various art materials. Projects include decoupage, paper mache, sculpture, printmaking and painting.

Art in the Round
For ages 4 1/2 – 6 years.  Children will develop their creativity while working with many different types of materials to create unusual and exciting pieces of art.

Clayworks
Ages 7-10. Students will learn a variety of technical skills for hand building including: slipping, scoring and glazing in our professional ceramic studio.

Drawing & Painting with Pat

Mixed Media
Ages 6-8. Children will immerse themselves in creativity and fun, while creating 2-D and 3-D projects. We will work in paint, collage, work on basic drawing skills, and play with clay.

For ages 8 and up – adults welcome.
Create your own cards for friends and family for holidays, bar/bat mitzvahs, birthdays or any other holiday.  There are many ways to make cards pop and move.  This class will introduce simple techniques to make your own creatins.  Take your cards home each week.

Summer Arts Center (SAC)

Where campers pursue their passions in art, music, theatre, and dance. The joy of creative expression is what our unique Summer Arts Center (SAC) is all about. The only program of its kind in lower Westchester, SAC provides an opportunity for campers to focus on art, dance or theatre as a major, while taking electives in disciplines outside their major.

  • For campers entering grades 2-8
  • Taught by professional, adult artists/instructors
  • No previous experience necessary
  • Customized program to meet child’s individual needs
  • Option to participate in end of summer performance
  • Option to include instructional swim and/or gymnastics

Open Studio Life Painting
Open Studio is a class for all levels who want to work from a live model. Our models will hold a single pose for three consecutive sessions. Primarily a painting class but students may bring other materials with which to work. Students will work on their own but critiques will be offered to help students develop their own style and vision.

Art Gallery

The Art Gallery at the JCC was generously endowed by Marjorie and Norman Alexander. It is a showcase for community artists, both professional and amateur. In addition, the Art School uses this gallery for faculty and student shows. Art Internships

The Art Department at the JCC has a vibrant internship program for High School students seeking to fulfill their school’s community service requirements. Students will assist instructors in our after school children’s art classes or in our Drop in Art Studio. To arrange an interview, please call the Art Director.
