Our hip hop classes will get your child moving and grooving to the beat! Our experienced instructors create a welcoming and inclusive environment where kids feel comfortable expressing themselves and trying new things.

Through a variety of age-appropriate choreography and exercises, dancers will build their coordination, rhythm, and confidence. We emphasize creativity and self-expression, so your child will have plenty of opportunities to show off their own unique style and personality!

Session Information

ages seven to nine years

Hip Hop 1

For the beginner student. Explores a variety of jazz and hip hop dance styles, from traditional jazz technique to contemporary music-video style. Class includes vocabulary, warm-up, and center floor work. Children are moved to the next level at the discretion of the instructor.

Dress Code

Tank top or T-shirt, black leggings or jazz pants, and black jazz shoes or studio-use sneakers. Hair pulled off the neck.

ages 10 and older

Hip Hop 2/3

This class will expand on Level 1, with hip hop, traditional jazz and theater dance styles, with emphasis on presentation, proper dance technique, discipline, and, of course, fun! Students enrolling must have some prior dance experience and are urged to supplement their jazz hip hop training with a weekly ballet class.

Dress Code

Tank top or T-shirt, black leggings or jazz pants, and black jazz shoes or studio-use sneakers. Hair pulled off the neck.
