APP Lecture: Understanding the Supreme Court

This lecture examines the development of the First Amendment protection of religious freedom. Circumstances and Supreme Court interpretations of the first 16 words of the Bill of Rights will be considered to illustrate how founding-era ideals have been applied to the controversial issue of religion and government interaction in America. We the People lectures is dedicated to bringing nonpartisan discussions, lectures, and shared dialogue about American and constitutional history to local schools, libraries, and other community-based settings.

About the Speaker
