The JCC offers several different yoga classes:

  • Yoga emphasizes the mind and body connection. Exploration here will guide you through the foundations of yoga postures (asanas) while emphasizing flexibility, breathing, and relaxation techniques.
  • Vinyasa Yoga  is a more intense yoga to enhance flexibility, strength and overall performance. The word “vinyasa” can be translated as “arranging something in a “special way,” like yoga poses for example. In vinyasa yoga classes, students coordinate movement with breath to flow from one pose to the next.
  • Foundations of Yoga this class will slow it down with a focus on breathing, proper alignment and yoga as a form of good self care.
  • Gentle Hatha Yoga focuses on the centering of the breath and body-aligning the physical with the mental utilizing gentle movement. This therapeutic practice utilizes props to customize the postures to the needs of each individual.
