Art Talk & Photography Workshop with Israeli Artist Hadassa Goldvicht

orange-grad-sep

We are thrilled to welcome Israeli artist Hadassa Goldvicht to the JCCMW to share her work and discuss her latest project at the JCCMW, a site-specific artwork that will offer opportunities for reflection, expression, and non-traditional forms of prayer during these challenging times.

Following the talk, Hadassa will guide a photography workshop in which participants will explore themes of community, pain, and healing, and capture images that reflect personal and shared experiences. This workshop in our Friedland Makerspace is limited to 20 participants. No photography experience is needed, but please bring your cell phone! A delicious kosher lunch will be provided.

Admission: $36

About the Artist

Hadassa Goldvicht is an interdisciplinary artist, writer and lecturer. Her videos, installations, and photographs include large scale public interventions within communities and institutions, and they explore the relationship between language and hierarchy and ritual and caretaking.

She received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design (2004) and an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York (2007).

Her work has been exhibited widely, including at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem; the Fondazione Querini Stampalia, Venice; the Jewish Museum, New York; the Tel Aviv Museum; the Beijing Biennial; and the Zacheta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw.

This program is proudly supported by the Israel Engagement Fund: A JCC Association of North America Program Accelerator and the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs.
