Beginning Drawing Class
In this six-week course in our Friedland Makerspace, you’ll learn the fundamentals of form and shape, exploring concepts like values, tones, shading, negative spaces, and foreshortening. Through practical exercises and reference images, you’ll develop your ability to perceive and interpret visual information accurately. Using pencil as your primary tool, you’ll learn to create technically accurate drawings, laying a solid foundation essential for any artist’s process.
Supplies Needed: B pencils, 9″ x 12″ sketch pad, ruler, and eraser

About the Artist
Jo Jayson is an internationally known British artist who started her career as a muralist and decorative painter in London, Sydney, and New York. Her work is loved and sought after around the world, primarily but not exclusively figurative, with feminine spiritual, healing, and empowerment themes. She has a successful Etsy store, where she sells her paintings and reproductions online to people all over the world. She teaches art to children and adults locally in the New York area.
